Lead and show others the way. In other words, be a teacher.
Quite often, people sit back and let others lead. Mostly this is done because it is easier at times to follow than to lead. The world, however, needs more people to show the way.
Whether you know it or not, you have things to teach others. Sometimes, just by being an example of living right, you set the standard and therefore lead.
We all have a unique skill set. What we have in common, though, is love. We can all shine love, kindness and compassion out into the world.
Our talents can be used to teach as well as to do. When we use our skills thoroughly, we must teach. The only way to move forward is to ensure others can pick up where you are leaving off. This requires that they understand and know how to carry on.
Share your knowledge with those who are struggling. You have overcome many hurdles. Don’t let them struggle as you did. Help them avoid the pitfalls. By lifting others up, we rise higher and shine brighter.
Show people how to be kind through actions and words. Living a life of love is not always easy, but it is always possible. Kindness and compassion stand out and help change the world. Love is the best teacher of all.
In school, we are taught the basics – math, writing, science, geography and some history. As we progress, we learn more complexities of each subject. The concept is to start small and expand until what is needed to be known is taught.
We don’t learn all the skills needed in life, though. Through discipline, we are taught how to deal with anger and not always efficiently. Unfortunately, our system is cookie-cutter, and everyone is treated the same. We are not all the same, and some learn differently.
Sometimes, the best way to teach is to allow others to model your behaviour. Adults will model that which they believe will make them happy. In their search for happiness, they sometimes turn the wrong way. If you lead a life that can be modelled, you will shine like a beacon.
Teach your children how to act and handle their emotions, but also teach them how to live with compassion, understanding and acceptance of their fellow human beings.
You will do many things throughout your life and hopefully will continue to grow. Along your journey, don’t forget that at times you need to be a teacher.
