You Get To Live Every Day

Someone once said to me that you only die once, but you get to live every day. How true that is.

Living life is a privilege that shouldn’t be taken for granted. We come into this life free of sin, prejudice, envy and all the other negative things that life can teach us.

Everything we are, and how we act, has been learned either because we were taught how to do something, behave a certain way, or because we copied what we saw others doing.

We learn to do the things we do and how to live the way we are living. If you aren’t happy with your life, you can retrain yourself and build new habits.

Anything negative that has been learned can be discarded, but you have to choose to do it. You have to decide to build new habits and learn new things. Just the same as you must choose to be happy, you must choose how you wish to live and act accordingly.

We live every single day of our lives. Hopefully, they are long and happy ones. If there are going to be many of them, why not ensure they are the happiest that they can be?

There are many examples out there, both present and past, that show us the good and the bad. History is there to learn from to see how far we have come and to understand that we are just at a stop along the way.

We can look back and see clear examples of horrible things that should never be repeated, but we can also see bravery, innovation, loving and kindness. Please don’t repeat the past, but don’t forget about it either. See it for what it is without emotion, an example. If you are unhappy now, build a better tomorrow for yourself.

There will always be people who are ‘naysayers.’ They will try and discourage you or try to sabotage you, even if unconsciously. Unhappy people like to know they are not alone. Be aware of this and forge ahead anyhow. Please don’t live in their fear of change.

Be grateful for the things you do have in your life. Don’t take the people who love you for granted and assume they will always be there. Life is a continual journey, and people come and go as they must. Enjoy the days you have with them and treat them well.

How you walk through this life is totally up to you. Just remember that living is a privilege, and you get to live every day.
