Forever Here In My Heart

Forever here in my heart

I can no longer see you,
but, I feel you here;
no longer touch you, and yet,
your embrace lingers near.

A touch lingering on the edge,
the edge of a dream, a faint memory;
a sense of your strength, and your warmth,
still, with you yet, I cannot be.

A love that will last an eternity,
filling me with warmth on a cold day;
oh, how lucky I was that day long ago,
that day, that day, you walked my way.

A lifetime together,
full of laughter and love;
taken much too soon,
to watch o’er me from above.

So I sit here wrapped in my memories,
wishing always we were never apart;
and I will hold you ever and always,
forever, here, in my heart.
