Finding Oneself

We all find ourselves at different times. Some have found themselves at a very young age, while others find themselves much later.

There is nothing more liberating than when you come into your own and find yourself. This is when you live the life you were meant to live, being true to your authentic self.

Some say, this is the place I found myself, the truth is I found myself long ago, I just wasn’t ready. This is the place where I said, yes, it’s time, I’m ready. I knew I would always write, and in fact, dabbled my whole life with lyrics, poetry and short stories. I had two teachers who discouraged that, some would say it was unfortunate, and a while ago perhaps I too would have, but I believe they truly did not understand what they were doing.

The reality is, it happens when it is meant to happen, when you are ready to say yes to living your true authentic self. Perhaps they delayed me but the people in my life, the love I had, or didn’t have, were all meant to unfold as they did, bringing me to this exact point in my life,

Coming into your own is liberating. When you are living your true authentic self it no longer matters what others think. Those aligned with you will love you and support you, those who do not are either not ready, or not meant to be part of your journey, and that is okay.

Stepping into the life you were meant to live can be scary, especially if you are not ready, but when you do, your light will shine brighter, you will find more peace in your life, even during difficult times, and you will be happier for it.

No matter what stage of life you come into yourself, own it! Live your authentic life, because there is nothing more rewarding than finding oneself.
